How wonderful was it to see the Lord ascending into heaven? What were the disciples feeling as they watched Jesus leaving them? Were they sad that Jesus left them? They had spent every day of the last three years following Him. Were they in awe of the sight of Him ascending into heaven?

If Jesus would have stayed, the Holy Spirit would not have come. Sometimes something or someone needs to leave or end in order to make room for something greater or someone new. For every end there is a new beginning. Are we willing to let go of something or someone to gain something greater or someone new?

The past is past. We cannot change it. However, we need to learn from the past in order to not make the same mistakes from the past. The future is not here yet and not promised. We will only destroy our present joy by worrying about the future. We only have now. We need to live in each moment and live each moment to the fullest. When we live in the past, we fail to move forward. When we live in the future, we miss the present.
